Bike and wine

Since the Middle Ages, Funen has been known as the breadbasket of Denmark. Today, a budding wine production can be added to its reputation. In 2021, you can again enjoy one of our guided bike tours to our two local wine producers. On the way, Øhavsmuseet’s guide will serve stories about the flourishing Southern Funen.

Our wine tours take you 10 kilometers through the breathtaking countryside of Faaborg which offers favorable conditions for Danish wine making. During the ride, you will hear about the rich soil of Horneland and the role of Funen as the garden of Denmark.

Grands Vin will present a unique rosé wine that is made of Danish blackcurrant. And at the old family farm Kimesbjerggaard, you will meet a production of red, white and rosé wines from a variety of grapes like Orion, Solaris, and Rondo.
